Isaiah 46:4 and the Other Verses of Isaiah 46

“As Moses lifted up the serpent [the serpent made of bronze described in Numbers 21:8–9] in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that whosoever believes in Him will have eternal life, for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten [uniquely born] Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

“…for by grace you are saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, lest any man should boast.”

Above is the content of John 3:14–16 and the content of Ephesians 2:8–9, respectively.  Itʼs worthwhile to refrain from receiving the mark referenced in Revelation 13:11–18 and to instead receive eternal life for free by believing that Jesus is the Savior.  Before doing any Bible studying and before praying to God the Father, it is useful for a person who has believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior to try to think of any sins that one might have committed since one last confessed oneʼs known post-salvation sins to God the Father, and if one has indeed committed any, to then silently confess those sins to God the Father—confessing only one time for each sin—in accordance with what is mentioned in 1 John 1:9:  

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

When studying the Word of God, it is beneficial to keep in mind the content of Hebrews 4:12:  

“Indeed, the Word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit and of the joints and the marrow and is a critic of thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Note:  The heart refers to the mind.  

It is also beneficial to keep in mind the content of 2 Timothy 3:16–17 when studying the Word of God:  

“All Scripture is God breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God might be mature, having been thoroughly furnished unto all good work.”

It is the responsibility of a pastor-teacher to endeavor to correctly understand the Word of God and then to accurately teach the Word of God, as per the content of 2 Timothy 2:15:  

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the Word of Truth.”

A pastor-teacher is a communicator rather than a crutch on which to be leaned.  In that regard, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ should refrain from putting oneʼs trust in and thereby serving as a devoted follower of and thus worshiping a pastor-teacher.  Likewise, a believer should refrain from putting oneʼs trust in and thereby serving as a devoted follower of and thus worshiping anyone other than the Trinity [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit], as per Joshua 24:15, the content of which references Joshua speaking to the Israelites:  

If it is disagreeable/bad/evil/wrong/wretchedness/displeasing in your sight to serve/worship Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One, choose for yourselves today whom you serve/worship:  whether the gods ['elohiym / false gods] which your fathers have served/worshiped which were beyond the river or the gods ['elohiym / false gods] of the Amorites in whose land you are living.  As for me and my house, we serve/worship Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One.

Note:  Joshua, the leader of the Israelites after Joshua had been serving as the assistant of Moses while Moses was the leader of the Israelites, set the example for the Israelites.  Joshua chose to put his trust in and thereby serve as a devoted follower of and thus worship God the Father rather than Joshua choosing to put his trust in and thereby serve as a devoted follower of and thus worship the lesser of multiple evils amongst multiple choices of 'elohiym [el-oh-HEEM].  The word 'elohiym with a lowercase e can refer to false gods, to angels, or to human rulers or judges.  The word 'Elohiym with a capital E refers to the Trinity.  The word 'elohiym can also be used to refer to might as in mightiness.  In that regard, the use of the word 'elohiym in reference to false gods, to angels, or to human rulers or judges involves the connotation of mightiness in comparison to an average human.  When a person puts oneʼs trust in and thereby serves as a devoted follower of and thus worships an angel or human, that angel or human is that personʼs false god.  Regarding the foregoing, the content of Joshua 24:15 involves Joshua calling attention to the choices that the Israelites had, and that content involves Joshua permitting the Israelites to make their choices while Joshua led by example with his choice.  

The gift of pastor-teacher is for the purpose of each pastor-teacher functioning as a messenger who communicates the Word of God rather than functioning as a priest between the Trinity and mankind.  In that regard, the time period that can be referred to as the Church Age started fifty days after the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, and all Church Age believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are priests.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the High Priest of Church Age believers, and believers should be willing to acknowledge/confess/profess to people the believersʼ faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, as per Hebrews 4:14–15:  

Therefore, since we have a great High Priest Who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the acknowledgment/confession/profession.  Indeed, we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One Who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

Also, the Lord Jesus Christ is the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek [mel-KIZ-uh-dek], who was the ruler of Salem when Abraham was still named Abram.  Melchizedek was both a king and a priest, as per Genesis 14:18, which references Melchizedek greeting Abram:  

Then Melchizedek king of Salem has brought out bread and wine, and he is a priest of 'El [AYL] 'Elyown [el-YOHN] / God [focusing on God the Fatherʼs power] Most High.

The Lord Jesus Christ is also both a king and a priest because the Lord is the Priest according to the order of Melchizedek, as per Hebrews 7:14–17:  

Indeed, it is evident that our Lord has arisen from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.  Also, it is still much more evident:  that according to the similarity of Melchizedek, Another of a different type of priest arises, Who has become such not on the basis of a law of fleshly command / physical requirement but according to the power of an indestructible life.  Indeed, it is attested:  “YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER, ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.”

Note:  The Lord Jesus Christ is from the tribe of Judah.  Also, the Lord Jesus Christ is qualified to be a priest because He was resurrected and therefore has an indestructible body.  The above content in all capital letters is a reference to Psalm 110:4.  

Because a king is royalty, a king who is a priest is a royal priest.  In that regard, Church Age believers are royalty because they are members of the Lord Jesus Christʼs family.  Therefore, all Church Age believers are royal priests, as per 1 Peter 2:9–10:  

However, you are A CHOSEN PEOPLE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR ACQUISITION/PRESERVATION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him Who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are GODʼS PEOPLE.  You had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.

Note:  Before the Church Age, Gentiles were not Godʼs people.  In the Church Age, both Jewish and Gentile believers are Godʼs people.  The content of 1 Peter 2:10 references Hosea 2:23.  In that regard, Peter uses references involving Israel in the Old Testament to refer to Church Age believers.  

Itʼs the message rather than the messenger that should be the focus of the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Put succinctly:  itʼs the message rather than the messenger.  In that regard, it is beneficial to keep in mind the content of Revelation 22:8–9, which was written by the apostle John, who, in addition to writing The Revelation to John, wrote The Gospel According to John, The First Epistle of John, The Second Epistle of John, and The Third Epistle of John:  

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things, and when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things, but he says* to me, “Do not do that.  I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who keep the words of this book.  Worship God.”

*Note:  The word says is in the Greek historical present tense.  By means of the Greek historical present tense, past action or future action can be described from the perspective of someone seeing the action as it occurs.  

Regarding messages, believers should use the Word of God to examine what is being communicated.  That is what the Bereans who are mentioned in Acts 17:10–12 did:  

The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, who, when they arrived, went into the synagogue of the Jews.  Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all eagerness / readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.  Therefore, many of them believed, and not a few prominent Greek women and men.

Note:  The phrase not a few means “quite a few.”  

Today, the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to meet believers in the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds on the occasion of the Rapture is one day closer than it was yesterday.  The Rapture involves both deceased and living believers in the Lord Jesus Christ meeting the Lord in the clouds in the atmosphere of the earth, receiving glorified immortal resurrection bodies similar to the Lord Jesus Christʼs glorified resurrection body, and going to Heaven with those resurrection bodies.  Before the Rapture occurs, deceased believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are in Heaven without glorified bodies.  It is possible that the Rapture will occur during the time when the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah [yahm tuh-ROO-uh or yohm tuh-ROO-uh] would occur.  The Feast of Trumpets was one of the seven feasts that the Israelites were supposed to celebrate each year under the regulations of the Mosaic Law.  The term Mosaic Law refers to the laws communicated by Moses to the ancient Israelites.  Because Moses communicated those laws, they are known collectively as the Mosaic Law.  The Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the Mosaic Law by being judged on the cross for the sins of humanity.  Now that the Lord Jesus Christ has fulfilled the Mosaic Law, no believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are under the regulations of the Mosaic Law.  

While it is possible that the Rapture will occur during the time when the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah [yahm tuh-ROO-uh or yohm tuh-ROO-uh] would occur—which is referenced as a single day in Leviticus 23:24–25 and Numbers 29:1–6 and which is what some people call Rosh Hashanah and which some people celebrate for two days—the next occurrence of which will possibly be during the time period of September 10th, 2026, at 11:51 A.M. – September 14th, 2026, at 1:08 P.M. in the Eastern Daylight Time zone or the time period of October 10th, 2026, at 11:13 A.M. – October 14th, 2026, at 12:29 P.M. in the Eastern Daylight Time zone, it is worthwhile for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to get into the habit of being prepared every day for the return of the Lord, just in case the Rapture will occur during a time other than the time of the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah.  Furthermore, it is worthwhile to be in the habit of being prepared for the Rapture so that if it does occur during the time of the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah, one can be prepared for that time because of already being in the habit of being prepared.  Examples of being prepared for the Rapture include applying the content of 1 John 1:9 whenever one sins, being unselfish, and whenever circumstances are such that an opportunity arises, sharing the gospel—the good news that believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity is the means by which a person is able to have eternal life.  Regarding sharing the gospel, one could also have a written or printed message containing the gospel with that written or printed message located somewhere where it could be easily noticed so that if a person or people were to read or hear that written or printed message either before or after the Rapture occurs, that person or people would thereby read or hear the gospel by means of that written or printed message.  

Whether the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah in 2026 would occur during September or October depends on whether barley crop in Israel in 2026 was first in a status known as abib [ah-BEEB] (also known as aviv [ah-VEEV]) in March or April, respectively.  Also, if barley crop in Israel in 2026 was first in a status known as abib/aviv in February, then the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah would have occurred during the time period of August 12th, 2026, at 12:25 P.M. – August 16th, 2026, at 1:49 P.M. in the Eastern Daylight Time zone.  On which day and at what time in August, September, or October the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah would start depends on the time of the last sunset over Jerusalem before the first sliver of a crescent new moon after that sunset.  The crescent new moon is the illumination of a sliver of the waxing moon.  The moon is waxing when it is becoming more and more illuminated after what some people refer to as the astronomical new moon, the time when there is an absence of illumination of the moon—in other words, when there is an absence of reflection of light from the moon.  On which day and at what time in August, September, or October the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah would end depends on whether the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah lasts one day or two days and whether the time of day of the end of the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah / Rosh Hashanah is at sunset, at the end of civil twilight, at the end of nautical twilight, or at the end of astronomical twilight.  

Regarding information about the Rapture, it is beneficial to keep in mind the content of 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51–52:  

1 Thessalonians 4:13–18

Now we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again—and we do indeed believe that Jesus died and rose again—so also God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.  Indeed, this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive who remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep, for the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout of command, with a voice of an archangel and with a trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive who remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.  Therefore, comfort one another with these words.

1 Corinthians 15:51–52

Behold, I tell you a mystery:  we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.

After the Rapture will be the seven-year Tribulation.  The believers who will be alive on the earth when the Rapture occurs will escape the Tribulation.  1 Thessalonians 5:1–11 covers that topic.  In that regard, in the book 1 Thessalonians, the content of 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 is immediately followed by the content of 1 Thessalonians 5:1–11.  

1 Thessalonians 5:1–11

Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you, for you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night.  While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.  However, you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief, for you are all sons of light and sons of day.  We are not of night nor of darkness; therefore, let us not sleep as others, but let us be alert and sober.  Indeed, those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night.  However, since we are of day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and benevolence/goodwill, and as a helmet, the hope / absolute confidence of deliverance, for God has not destined us for wrath but for obtaining deliverance through our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.  Therefore, comfort one another and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Note:  In this context, the day of the Lord is the time period that consists of the Rapture, the seven years of the Tribulation, and the Second Advent.  In that regard, deliverance from the Tribulation is the deliverance in this context.  Also, unspecified is who will be saying “Peace and safety!”  In this context, sleeping refers to a lack of alertness.  The alertness in this context involves being ready for the Rapture.  In order to be ready for the Rapture, a believer needs to be filled with the power of God the Holy Spirit and to pay attention for historical trends such as people saying “Peace and safety!” and for historical trends that match the pattern of the world being on the brink of tremendous calamities like those that will occur during the Tribulation.  Regarding being filled with the power of God the Holy Spirit, once a believer commits a sin after salvation, that believer is no longer filled with the power of God the Holy Spirit and is out of fellowship with the Trinity.  After that believer has confessed/acknowledged to God the Father all of that believerʼs known unconfessed post-salvation sins, fellowship with the Trinity and the filling with the power of the Holy Spirit are restored.  The procedure for confessing/acknowledging to God the Father all of oneʼs known unconfessed post-salvation sins is mentioned in 1 John 1:9:  “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Fellowship with God the Father and God the Son is mentioned in 1 John 1.  Being out of fellowship with God the Holy Spirit is referenced in Ephesians 4:30.  In that regard, when a believer sins, that believer grieves the Holy Spirit.  Losing the filling of the power of God the Holy Spirit is referenced in 1 Thessalonians 5:19.  In that regard, when a believer sins, the power of God the Holy Spirit is quenched in that believer.  After a believer has confessed/acknowledged to God the Father all of that believerʼs known unconfessed post-salvation sins, that believer is then filled with the power of God the Holy Spirit again and in fellowship with the Trinity again.  

The verse of the day for September 10th is Isaiah 46:4.  The full name of the book Isaiah is “The Book of Isaiah.”  When the book Isaiah was written, Judah was an independent country; therefore, it had not yet become the Roman province Judea [joo-DEE-uh or joo-DAY-uh].  The word Judea can also be spelled Judaea or Judæa.  The character æ is a ligature [LIG-uh-chuhr or LIG-uh-choor] of a and e.  Before the Romans conquered the region known as Judea, the name of the country of the Jewish people was Judah.  The inhabitants of Judah can be referred to as Judahites [JOO-duh-ights].  The inhabitants of Judea can be referred to as Judeans [joo-DEE-uhnz or joo-DAY-uhnz].  

The first king of Israel was King Saul, the second king of Israel was King David, and the third king of Israel was one of Davidʼs sons, King Solomon.  After King Solomon died, Israel was split into two nations.  Ten tribes formed the Northern Kingdom, which kept the name Israel and is also known as Ephraim.  Two tribes formed the Southern Kingdom, which is also known as Judah.  The twelve tribes of Israel are listed as follows, in order of birth of the sons of Jacob:  Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin.  The ten tribes of the Northern Kingdom are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, and Joseph.  Also, the tribe of Joseph is subdivided into the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh.  In that regard, Joseph has a double portion.  In some parts of the Bible, the tribe of Ephraim is referred to as the tribe of Joseph.  The two tribes of the Southern Kingdom are Judah and Benjamin.  Below is a link to a map showing the Northern Kingdom (Israel) and the Southern Kingdom (Judah).  For reference, Jerusalem is located in grid coordinate C6.

Many Israelites of the Southern Kingdom, which is also known as Judah, were exiled to Babylon in 586 B.C.  Israelites returned to the land in 516 B.C., which was seventy years later.  In that regard, the prophets are categorized as pre-exilic, exilic, and post-exilic prophets.  Isaiah is categorized as a pre-exilic prophet.  

For geographical reference, below is a link to a map of the Assyrian and Babylonian Empires.  Jerusalem is located at grid coordinate C4.  Babylon is located on the edge of grid coordinates E3 and E4.  Also, while Persia is not labeled on that map, Persia is located in grid coordinates F2, F3, and F4, as well as further east than the area marked by those grid coordinates.  For reference, the city Babylon is on the edge of grid coordinates E3 and E4 on that map.

Because it is useful to study verses that share the same context, below is content related to Isaiah 46.  

Isaiah 46:1

Bel has bowed down; Nebo is stooping.  Their images have been for the beast and the cattle.  The things carried by you are burdensome—a burden for the weary.

Note:  Bel was a chief false god of the Babylonians.  The name Bel is a another name for the false god Baal.  Both Bel and Baal mean “lord.”  The false god Bel is the equivalent of the Greek false god Zeus and the Roman false god Jupiter.  The false god Nebo is the equivalent of the Greek false god Hermes and the Roman false god Mercury.  

The images of Bel and Nebo were inanimate objects.  The transporting of those inanimate objects was a wearisome burden.  In that regard, the pronoun you in this verse refers to the animals carrying the images that represented Bel and Nebo.  

Isaiah 46:2

They have stooped; they have bowed down together.  They have not been able to rescue the burden, but their soul has / they themselves have gone into captivity.

Note:  In this verse, the man-made objects representing the false gods Bel and Nebo are sarcastically referred to as each having a soul.  That sarcastic reference refers to the images themselves as having gone into captivity.  The captivity referenced in this verse refers to Babylonians being captured by the Persian king Cyrus [SIGH-ruhs].  

The uses of the perfect tense in the verbs in this verse are references to the future.  Such uses of the perfect tense have a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, why would verbs in the perfect tense be used to refer to what will happen in the future?  Doing so in reference to something being indicated can communicate that what will occur in the future is 100% certain to happen and that because it is 100% certain to happen, it is as though it has happened already.  Regarding the foregoing, the content of this verse is a prophecy.  

Isaiah 46:3

“Hear, listen to, and obey Me, O house of Jacob and all the remnant of the house of Israel, you who are borne from the belly/womb, who are lifted up / carried from the womb.

Note:  In this verse, Isaiah quotes God the Father speaking to Israelites.  The word borne in this verse refers to being carried.  The references to being carried in this verse metaphorically refer to the Israelites being taken care of by God the Father.  In that regard, the references to a womb in this verse metaphorically refer to the beginning of the nation of Israel, which occurred on the occasion of the Exodus from Egypt.  

Isaiah 46:4

“Even to old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs, I carry.  I have done, and I lift up / carry.  I carry, and I deliver.

Note:  In this verse, the reference to old age and the reference to gray hairs refer to the old age and gray hairs of Israelites.  The pronoun He in this verse refers to God the Father.  Also, Isaiah wrote part of this this verse elliptically, omitting a verb.  In that regard, the word am in italics in this verse has been included for the purpose of clarity of communication.  

Rather than man-made objects or the creatures that they represent—whether humans, animals, angels, or some hybrid of any of those—taking care of and delivering the Israelites, God the Father takes care of and delivers the Israelites.  Regarding the Trinity [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit], this verse is focused on God the Father.  In that regard, each Member of the Trinity performs a different role.  Regarding the roles of the Members of the Trinity, God the Father does the planning, God the Son executes the plan, and God the Holy Spirit reveals the plan.  Because God the Father does the planning, He can also be referred to as doing the plan.  

Isaiah 46:5

“To whom do you liken Me / compare Me and make Me equal and compare Me / liken Me, that we are compared / are likened?

Note:  Man-made objects and the creatures that they represent are inferior to God the Father.  

Isaiah 46:6

“Those who lavish gold from the purse weigh silver on the scale.  They hire a goldsmith who makes it a god.  They bow down.  Indeed, they worship it.

Note:  Inside square brackets below, the letters i.e. are used to represent the phrase that is.  The two letters are an abbreviation for the Latin words id est, which mean “that is.”  When one reads those two letters, one can either say, “eye ee” or “that is.”  If one is reading out loud, and if any hearers of that reading are unaware of what the letters i.e. represent, it is best to say “that is.”  Also, the letters i.e. need to be followed by a comma.  

In this verse, the Hebrew noun that is translated as “god” with a lowercase g is אֵל [pronounced AYL and transliterated in this context as 'el].  (Hebrew is written and read from right to left.)  That noun is an inflected form of the root word אֵל [pronounced AYL and transliterated in this context as 'el].  Depending on the context, אֵל could refer to a false god, to an angel, to a human ruler or judge, or to a Member of the Godhead [i.e., the Trinity].  When referring to a Member of the Godhead, אֵל is transliterated as 'El.  The context for Isaiah 46:6 is such that אֵל as used in that verse refers to a false god.  

Isaiah 46:7

“They lift it upon the shoulder.  They carry it.  They set it in its place, and it stands.  It does not move from its place.  Though one may cry to it, it cannot answer.  It cannot deliver him from his distress/adversity/trouble/strait.

Note:  Idols are powerless to move themselves, and idols are powerless to help the people who worship those idols.  

Isaiah 46:8

“Remember this and be resolute / act like grownups.  Recall it to heart, you rebels / transgressors.

Note:  The heart refers to the mind.  This verse indicates that the Israelites should cease all involvement with idols and that the Israelites should firmly resist any temptations to be involved with idols.  In that regard, refraining from being involved with idols is the mature thing to do.  

Isaiah 46:9

“Remember the former things long past, for I am 'El [AYL] / God [focusing on God the Fatherʼs power], and there is no other.  I am 'Elohiym [el-oh-HEEM] / the Godhead, and there is no one like Me, 

Note:  Isaiah wrote this verse elliptically, omitting some verbs.  In that regard, the words that are in italics in this verse have been included for the purpose of clarity of communication.  

Isaiah 46:10

declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times, things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose is established, and I accomplish all My good pleasure, 

Isaiah 46:11

calling a bird of prey from the east’”—the man of His purpose from a far country—“Truly, I have spoken.  Truly, I bring it to pass.  I have planned.  I do it.”

Note:  In this verse, Cyrus is metaphorically referenced by means of the phrase a bird of prey from the east.  The part of this verse before the first em dash involves Isaiah quoting God the Father.  The part of this verse between the two em dashes involves Isaiah providing some information about Cyrus.  The part of this verse after the second em dash involves Isaiah quoting God the Father again.  For context regarding Cyrus, below is content related to Isaiah 45:1–2.  In verse 1, Cyrus is mentioned.  

Isaiah 45:1

Thus has said Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One to Cyrus His anointed, whose right hand I have taken hold of / have strengthened / have made firm to subdue nations before him—I loosen the weapon belts / the hips of kings to open doors before him so that gates are not shut:  

Note:  The content of Isaiah 45:1 reveals that Cyrus was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  In that regard, the content of Isaiah 45:1 refers to Cyrus with the phrase His anointed.  In that phrase, the pronoun His refers to God the Father.  In the Bible, the term anointed is only used to refer either to the Lord Jesus Christ or to believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Because Cyrus believed in the Lord as the Savior before the Lord was born as the Human the Lord Jesus Christ, Cyrus did not necessarily know what the Lordʼs name would be.  The same applies to any believer in the Lord as the Savior before the Lord was born.  In that regard, the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believed before the Lord Jesus Christʼs public ministry was revealed—by means of believing that God the Son would take the form of the One sinless Human Who would be judged for the sins of humanity, that the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believed after the Lord Jesus Christʼs public ministry was revealed and before the Lord Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity—by means of believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is that sinless Human Who would be judged for the sins of humanity, and that the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believe after the Lord Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity—by means of believing that Jesus Christ is that sinless Human Who was judged for the sins of humanity.  

Also, this verse contains metaphors referring to Cyrus experiencing military victories.  In that regard, a weapon belt should be located around a personʼs hips in order for that person to efficiently remove the weapon or weapons located on that belt.  In contrast, a weapon belt that is loosened can cause impaired movement and even tripping.  

Isaiah 45:2

“I go before you and make smooth the swells of land.  I shatter doors of bronze and cut through iron bars.”

Note:  This verse contains metaphors that indicate that God the Father made it possible for Cyrus to experience the military victories that he experienced.  

As mentioned further above, Cyrus is metaphorically referred to as a bird of prey in the content of Isaiah 46:11.  That metaphor calls attention to the military power which Cyrus commanded.  Also, the phrase the man of His purpose calls attention to the fact that Cyrus being powerful is part of God the Fatherʼs plan.  

In Isaiah 46:11, the uses of a present tense in the phrase I bring it to pass and the phrase I do it are references to what will occur in the future from the perspective of anyone living at the time when Isaiah wrote the content of this verse.  Such uses of a present tense have a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, using a verb in a present tense to refer to the future can help a reader or hearer of the Word of God imagine future events as though the reader or hearer is watching those events as they occur.  

Isaiah 46:12

“Hear, listen to, and obey Me, you stubborn-hearted, who are far from righteousness.

Note:  The heart refers to the mind.  In that regard, the Israelites were stubborn-minded.  In this verse, the Hebrew phrase that is translated as “stubborn-hearted” is composed of an adjective and a noun.  That adjective is אַבִּירֵי [pronounced ab-bee-RAY and can be transliterated as 'abbiyre].  That adjective is an inflected form of the root word אַבִּיר [pronounced ab-BIHR and can be transliterated as 'abbiyr].  The noun associated with that adjective is לֵב [pronounced LAYV and can be transliterated as leb].  That noun is an inflected form of the root word לֵב [pronounced LAYV and can be transliterated as leb].  The translation of the phrase 'abbiyre leb as “stubborn-hearted” involves a figurative usage of the adjective 'abbiyre.  A more literal way to translate the phrase 'abbiyre leb is “stouthearted.”  In that regard, the usage of the phrase 'abbiyre leb in this verse is a sarcastic usage.  That sarcastic usage calls attention to the fact that the Israelites were determined to rebel against God the Father.  There is irony in that sarcastic usage because whereas being stouthearted is ordinarily associated with doing what is right, the Israelites were doing what was wrong.  In that regard, the Israelites should have been respectful towards God the Father instead of being determined to rebel against Him.  

Isaiah 46:13

“I have brought near My righteousness.  It is not far off.  My deliverance does not delay.  I have granted deliverance in Zion for Israel My glory.”

Note:  Zion [ZIGH-uhn] is the mountain on which Jerusalem is located.  Also, the word Zion can be used to refer to Jerusalem.  In that regard, the word Zion as used in this verse refers to Jerusalem.  

In this verse, Isaiah indicated that God the Father would soon provide righteous deliverance for the Israelites.  Cyrus would be the means by which God the Father would provide that deliverance for the Israelites.  In that regard, Cyrus was God the Fatherʼs agent of deliverance.  In performing the role of God the Fatherʼs agent of deliverance, Cyrus served as a type of Christ.  Rather than this usage of the word type referring to a subset, this usage of the word type refers to someone or something that serves as a teaching illustration.  In the Bible, there is a variety of types that serve as teaching illustrations for learning about the Lord Jesus Christ.  The study of types is referred to as typology.  Regarding the typology involving Cyrus delivering the Israelites who were living in captivity in Babylon, that literal captivity teaches about the metaphorical captivity experienced by a person until that person believes that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity.  In that regard, a person is captive to sin until that person believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior.  Also, the typology involving Cyrus delivering the Israelites rather than the Israelites delivering themselves is a teaching illustration that teaches that people are unable to obtain eternal life by means of their works.  

The use of the perfect tense in the phrase I have granted deliverance in this verse is a reference to the future.  Such a use of the perfect tense has a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, why would verbs in the perfect tense be used to refer to what will happen in the future?  Doing so in reference to something being indicated can communicate that what will occur in the future is 100% certain to happen and that because it is 100% certain to happen, it is as though it has happened already.  

Regarding the phrase for Israel My glory in this verse, Israel is the glory of God the Father in the sense that God the Fatherʼs deliverance of Israel brings glory to God the Father.  Regarding that glory, absent from this verse is anything indicating that Israel was the glory of Cyrus.  In that regard, whereas a believer can be thankful towards a person whom God the Father uses as an agent of deliverance, the believer must make sure to give glory to God the Father for using that person as an agent of deliverance, and the believer must refrain from glorifying that person whom God the Father uses as an agent of deliverance.  

The below content involves coincidences.  Some of those coincidences might be absolutely, utterly insignificant.  On the other had, some of those coincidences might indeed be significant.  

Regarding coincidences, while a believer in the Lord Jesus should refrain from assuming that coincidences are prophetic, a believer in the Lord Jesus can be alert with regard to coincidences.  Regarding refraining from assuming that coincidences are prophetic, while some believers in the Lord Jesus Christ had the gift of apostle and the gift of prophecy before the Canon of Scripture was completed, now that the Canon of Scripture has been completed, no believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have those gifts.  Now that the Canon of Scripture has been completed, the Word of God is revealed in the Canon of Scripture rather than by any information from outside the Canon of Scripture; therefore, the gift of apostle and the gift of prophet are unnecessary.  In contrast, evangelists and pastor-teachers share information that is in the Canon of Scripture; therefore, those gifts are still necessary.  

The content of 1 Corinthians 13:8–10 covers the topic of the gift of prophecy ending before the Canon of Scripture was completed.  In that regard, below is content related to 1 Corinthians 13:8–10.  

1 Corinthians 13:8

Benevolence/goodwill [agapē (ah-GAH-pay) (ἀγάπη)] never fails, but if prophecies, they will be done away; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be done away.

Note:  As with the content of 1 Corinthians 13:2, the content of 1 Corinthians 13:8 refers to spiritual gifts that stopped being available once the Bible was completed.  As mentioned in the notes for 1 Corinthians 13:1, the Bible was completed within a century after the Lord Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity.  

1 Corinthians 13:9

Indeed, we know in part and we prophesy in part, 

1 Corinthians 13:10

but when the complete/perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

Note:  In 1 Corinthians 13:10, the adjective that is translated as “complete/perfect” refers to the Bible.  In that regard, in 1 Corinthians 13:10, the Koine Greek adjective that is translated as “complete/perfect” is in the neuter gender.  That adjective is τέλειον [pronounced TEH-lay-ahn and transliterated as teleion].  That adjective is an inflected form of the root word τέλειος [pronounced TEH-lay-ahs and transliterated as teleios].  Koine Greek has three genders:  masculine, feminine, and neuter.  The Lord Jesus Christ is a male; therefore, an adjective that refers to Him would be in the masculine gender.  The neuter gender refers to a thing.  In 1 Corinthians 13:10, the thing to which the adjective that is translated as “complete/perfect” refers is the completed Canon of Scripture—in other words, the Bible.  In that regard, the content of 1 Corinthians 13:10 indicates that supernatural spiritual gifts stopped being available once the Canon of Scripture was completed.  The Canon of Scripture was completed in the 1st century A.D.  Also, the phrase the partial indicates that those spiritual gifts only revealed a portion of the Word of God that the Bible reveals.  

In the below notes, the Church Age, the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the Second Advent are referenced.  With regard to the Church Age, the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the Second Advent, below is a synopsis of human history as categorized into time periods known as dispensations.  In the below synopsis, there is the term hypostatic union [high-PUH-stat-ick YOON-yuhn].  This refers to the Lord Jesus Christ being 100% Deity and 100% humanity.  The English word hypostatic is derived from the Koine [KOI-nay] Greek word ὑπόστασις [pronounced hoo-PAH-stah-sees and transliterated as hypostasis].  After the Lord Jesus Christ was judged for the sins of humanity, His body was in the grave for three days and three nights.  He was then resurrected, and He was on the earth for forty days after He was resurrected.  He then ascended to Heaven, and ten days after that, the Day of Pentecost [PEN-tih-kahst] occurred.  The Day of Pentecost was the beginning of the Church Age.  The word Pentecost is derived from the Koine Greek word πεντηκοστή [pronounced pen-tay-kah-STAY and transliterated as pentēkostē].  That word is derived from the Koine Greek word πεντήκοντα [pronounced pen-TAY-kahn-tah and transliterated as pentēkonta], which means “fifty.”  Therefore, the word Pentecost is derived from the fact that that day occurred fifty days after the Lord was resurrected.  In that regard, the Church Age began fifty days after the Lord was resurrected.  The Church Age will end with the Rapture.  The Rapture involves both deceased and living believers in the Lord Jesus Christ meeting the Lord in the clouds in the atmosphere of the earth, receiving glorified immortal resurrection bodies similar to the Lord Jesus Christʼs glorified resurrection body, and going to Heaven with those resurrection bodies.  Before the Rapture occurs, deceased believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are in Heaven without glorified bodies.  Absent from the Bible is anything specifically indicating the precise date and time when the Rapture will occur, although it is possible that the Rapture will occur during the time when the Feast of Trumpets / Yom Teruah [yahm tuh-ROO-uh or yohm tuh-ROO-uh] would occur—which is referenced as a single day in Leviticus 23:24–25 and Numbers 29:1–6 and which is what some people call Rosh Hashanah and which some people celebrate for two days—the next occurrence of which will possibly be during the time period of September 10th, 2026, at 11:51 A.M. – September 14th, 2026, at 1:08 P.M. in the Eastern Daylight Time zone or the time period of October 10th, 2026, at 11:13 A.M. – October 14th, 2026, at 12:29 P.M. in the Eastern Daylight Time zone.  

Regarding the word judgment, the proper way to spell that word is without an e between the dg and the m.  In that regard, the e of the root word judge is dropped when the suffix ment is added to that root word.  The formation of the word judgment is shown below.

Another way to categorize human history is by means of civilizations.  Civilizations begin only with believers.  Regarding the timing of civilizations and dispensations, the first civilization began with Adam and ended on the occasion of the Great Flood (also known as the Flood).  That civilization is known as the antediluvian civilization and the predulivian civilization.  In that regard, the prefixes ante and pre mean “before.”  Also, there are various spellings of the adjectives that refer to the time before the Flood.  Those spellings include antediluvian, ante-diluvian, prediluvian, and pre-diluvian.  

After the Flood, there were only eight believers on the earth:  Noah, his wife, their three sons, and their sonsʼ wives.  With the removal of the unbelievers from the earth on the occasion of the Flood, a new civilization was started.  That civilization is known as the postdiluvian civilization (also known as the postdiluvial civilization).  Regarding the terminology, the prefix post means “after,” and the adjectives diluvian and diluvial mean “having to do with a flood.”  Also, there are various spellings of the adjectives that refer to the time after the Flood.  Those spellings include postdiluvian, post-diluvian, postdiluvial, and post-diluvial.  The postdiluvian civilization will end on the occasion of the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ.  On the occasion of the Second Advent, the Lord will remove all unbelievers from the earth.  Their removal will be by means of physical death just as the removal of all unbelievers was by means of physical death on the occasion of the Flood.  This is called the Baptism of Fire, which is either a metaphorical description because fire can be used to represent judgment or a literal reference to the use of fire in the judgment of unbelievers on the occasion of the Second Advent.  The Baptism of Fire is referenced in Matthew 3:11–12; Luke 3:15–17; and 2 Thessalonians 1:7–9.  

Just as a new civilization started after the Flood, so also a new civilization will start after the Baptism of Fire.  That civilization is called the Millennium.  The Millennium is both a civilization and a dispensation.  The Eternal State is also both a civilization and a dispensation.  

Regarding a believer in the Lord Jesus being alert with regard to coincidences, a Church Age believer can be alert for possibilities regarding current events that could fit the pattern of circumstances that could lead to what will occur during the Tribulation.  Regarding being alert, levels of alertness can be categorized in terms of a mindset color code that involves four colors.  The mindset color code describes states of awareness.  Below are the conditions of alertness of the mindset color code and descriptions of them.  

With regard to being alert regarding coincidences, a believer who is oblivious is in Condition White.  Likewise, a believer who disregards coincidences that could possibly fit a pattern of Bible content related to the Rapture or the Tribulation is in Condition White.  Such a believer acts like a cartoon ostrich that puts its head in the sand.  In contrast, a believer who is alert and who thinks about the coincidences that could possibly fit a pattern of Bible content related to the Rapture or the Tribulation is in Condition Yellow.  When a believer notices coincidences that could fit the pattern of circumstances that could lead to what will occur during the Tribulation, and if that believer then gets mentally prepared to share the gospel, that believer is in Condition Orange.  Because believers are unable to be in Condition Red with regard to the timing of the Rapture, believers need to be prepared for two things at once:  the Rapture occurring soon and the Rapture not occurring soon.  Regarding the foregoing, the following is a useful motto regarding pattern-matching:  Be alert.  Be careful.  Be safe.  

Sometimes people very much admire a person even when that person refrains from wanting to be admired.  Also, sometimes people very much admire a person who wants to be admired.  In that regard, people will very much admire a man who, after the Rapture and possibly also before the Rapture, will be the ruler of a powerful western nation such that that man can be referred to as the king of the West.  The king of the West is also known as the Antichrist with a capital A, the beast, and the first beast.  The false prophet is also known as the second beast.  The false prophet will be supporting the king of the West.  Content related to the king of the West being referred to as the first beast is in Revelation 13:1–12.  The content of Revelation 13:11–18 references the false prophet.  Itʼs worthwhile to refrain from receiving the mark referenced in Revelation 13:11–18 and to instead receive eternal life for free by believing that Jesus is the Savior.  

The content of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 indicates that the identity of the king of the West will be revealed after the Rapture.  In that regard, below is content related to 2 Thessalonians 2:1–4.  The apostle Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians.  

2 Thessalonians 2:1

Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,

Note:  In this verse, the word brethren refers to believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Also, this verse refers to the Rapture.  

2 Thessalonians 2:2

that you not be quickly shaken in the mind or be disturbed either by a spirit or a word or an epistle / a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Note:  In the context of this verse, the word spirit refers to the influence that governs the thinking of people.  Also, in the context of this verse, the day of the Lord is the time period that consists of the Rapture, the seven years of the Tribulation, and the Second Advent.  In that regard, Paul is indicating to the Thessalonian believers that they need to refrain from being tricked into believing that they were in the Tribulation.  

2 Thessalonians 2:3

Let no one in any way deceive you, for unless the departure comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

Note:  In this verse, the word departure refers to the Rapture.  In that regard, before the Tribulation starts, the Rapture must occur.  The Koine Greek noun that is translated as “departure” in this verse is ἀποστασία [pronounced ah-pah-stah-SEE-ah and transliterated as apostasia].  That noun is an inflected form of the root word ἀποστασία [pronounced ah-pah-stah-SEE-ah and transliterated as apostasia].  Regarding apostasia being translated as “departure” in this verse, there is no preposition and noun indicating from something after apostasia, and apostasia is derived from a verb that can be translated “depart”:  ἀφίστημι [pronounced ah-FEE-stay-mee and transliterated as aphistēmi]). 

The phrase the man of lawlessness refers to the Antichrist with a capital A.  The Antichrist is also known as the king of the West, the beast, and the first beast.  The false prophet is also known as the second beast.  The false prophet will be supporting the Antichrist.  Content related to the king of the West being referred to as the first beast is in Revelation 13:1–12.  The content of Revelation 13:11–18 references the false prophet.  

Before the identity of the Antichrist will be revealed, the Rapture must occur.  In addition, absent from this verse and the surrounding verses is anything indicating that the man who will be the Antichrist will be revealed to be the Antichrist to everyone.  In that regard, some people will recognize that he is the Antichrist, and some people will fail to recognize that he is the Antichrist.  

2 Thessalonians 2:4

who is opposing and is exalting himself above everything being called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the Temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Note:  As of the date of the last editing of these notes for 2 Thessalonians 2:4, there was no Temple of God on earth.  The last Temple was destroyed by Roman legions in A.D. 70.  Unspecified in the Bible is when the Temple referenced in this verse will be built.  

While, as of the date of the last editing of these notes, it is currently impossible for a believer to be in Condition Red regarding whether a particular man will be the king of the West during the Tribulation, a believer can be alert by being in Condition Orange.  A believer in Condition Orange is aware of the possibility that a particular man could potentially be the king of the West.  In that regard, the content of Revelation 17:8 indicates that the man who is the king of the West during the Tribulation will have been in power, out of power, and then back in power.  Also, the content of Revelation 13:4 references the king of the West as being perceived as being so powerful as to be invincible.  Awareness of such a man who could fit the pattern described in Revelation 17:8 and Revelation 13:4 can serve as a reminder for a believer to refrain from being in Condition White regarding the Rapture.  

Also, a believer in Condition Orange is aware of the possibility that a particular man could potentially be the false prophet.  The content of Revelation 13:13 indicates that the false prophet will cause fire to come down from heaven.  In that regard, rockets descending, emitting exhaust that looks like fire coming down in the sky are reminiscent of the description of fire coming down from heaven in Revelation 13:13.  It is possible that rather than the false prophet himself performing the task of causing fire to come down from heaven, he could be in charge of people who perform that task.  In that regard, while King Solomon, the second king of Israel, had people perform the tasks of building the First Temple, Solomon is referred to as having built that Temple.  If the content of Revelation 13:13 refers to some sort of technology used by the false prophet, then some people might perceive the false prophet as being a visionary technologist—in other words, a man who some people think has great ideas about what can be done regarding the future of mankind.  Such a man might be a false prophet in the sense of him making predictions about advancements in technology that do not occur by the times that he claims such advancement will occur.  Awareness of such a man who could fit the pattern described in Revelation 13:13 can serve as a reminder for a believer to refrain from being in Condition White regarding the Rapture.  

The content of Revelation 19:20 indicates that the king of the West and the false prophet will be cast into the Lake of Fire on the occasion of the Second Advent.  In that regard, it is beneficent to pray to God the Father that any man who fits any of the patterns of the king of the West hears or sees the gospel—the good news that believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity is the means by which a person is able to have eternal life—and that God the Holy Spirit make the gospel clear to that man.  Also, it is beneficent to pray to God the Father that any man who could fit the pattern of the false prophet will also hear the gospel and that God the Holy Spirit will make the gospel clear to that man.  If a man who could fit the pattern of the king of the West believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior, then that man will avoid being the king of the West.  Likewise, if a man who could fit the pattern of the false prophet believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior, then that man will avoid being the false prophet.  

Regarding people admiring a person very much and regarding the manufacturing of man-made objects referenced in Isaiah 46:6, in recent years a golden object in the likeness of a man holding a magic wand was made.  While some or all of the people involved with that object—whether making, transporting, or expressing approval of it—might be so involved for the purpose of humor or some other reason other than idolizing the person represented by that object, the manufacturing of that object is reminiscent of the people manufacturing the objects that are referenced in Isaiah 46:1–2 and Isaiah 46:6.  Also, that modern man-made object being carried by four people holding a platform on which that man-made object stands is reminiscent of the weight of the objects referenced in Isaiah 46:1–2 and Isaiah 46:6.  It is beneficent to pray for the man represented by that object, for that manʼs family, for the people involved in the manufacturing of that object, for the people involved in the transporting of that object, for the people expressing approval of that object, and for those peopleʼs families.  Such prayers can involve asking God the Father that those people hear or see the gospel—the good news that believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity is the means by which a person is able to have eternal life—and that God the Holy Spirit make the gospel clear to them.  

Regarding that golden object in the likeness of a man holding a magic wand, that object being wheeled around and carried are reminiscent of the content of Isaiah 46:1 and Isaiah 46:6, respectively.  Also, the object itself is reminiscent of the content of Isaiah 44:9.  Below is content related to that verse.  

Isaiah 44:9

Those who fashion a graven image / carved image are all tohuw [TOH-hoo] / a worthless thing / vanity / an empty place / a waste place, and their desirable/precious things do not profit.  Even their own witnesses fail to see or know, so that they are put to shame.

Note:  The word tohuw is also in Genesis 1:2 and Isaiah 45:18.  In those verses, tohuw can be translated as “waste place,” and the usage of tohuw in those verses refers to the condition of the earth sometime after it was created and before the creation of Adam, the first man.  The word tohuw can also be used figuratively to refer to something being worthless, which is how it is used in Isaiah 44:9.  In that regard, the people who make an image for the purpose of worshiping a false god are worthless.  Also, even though such images might seem desirable or precious to some people, such images are actually of zero benefit for people.  In addition, the people who condone such images fail to notice that involvement with such images is of zero benefit for people.  The people who are involved in images that glorify false gods will experience shame as a result of their involvement in that activity.  

Coincidentally, sandwiched between Isaiah 44 and Isaiah 46 is Isaiah 45, the content of which references the ancient Persian ruler Cyrus.  Also coincidentally, Isaiah 46 is sandwiched between Isaiah 45 and Isaiah 47, and both the content of Isaiah 45 and the content of Isaiah 47 reference Cyrus.  Content in Isaiah 45 and Isaiah 47 covers the topic of Cyrus and of his defeating of ancient Babylon.  In that regard, the king of the West shares a similarity with the ancient Persian king Cyrus.  

Regarding the king of the West sharing a similarity with the ancient Persian king Cyrus, Cyrus defeated ancient Babylon, and the king of the West will defeat the globalist group of evil powerful people referred to as Babylon in Revelation 14, 16, 17, and 18.  Content in Isaiah 45 and Isaiah 47 covers the topic of Cyrus and of his defeating of ancient Babylon.  Content in Revelation 17 and Revelation 18 covers the topic of the king of the West defeating the globalist group of evil powerful people referred to as Babylon.  Regarding Revelation 17, the content of Revelation 17:8 references the king of the West being in power, out of power, and then back in power.  Also, the king of the West will seem like a hero.  

Regarding the king of the West seeming to be a hero, the content of Revelation 6:2 indicates that the king of the West will seem to be a hero riding on a white horse.  In that regard, the king of the West is a pseudo-savior—in other words, a false savior.  Therefore, regarding the matter of the Savior, there can be only One.  

In contrast to the depiction of the king of the West in the content of Revelation 6:2, the content of Revelation 19:11 references the Lord Jesus Christ on a white horse on the occasion of the Second Advent.  Unspecified in the Bible is whether the Lord will be riding a literal horse or a vehicle that from the perspective of the apostle John could be described as a horse, including a flying vehicle that might resemble a flying motorcycle.  In that regard, the visions that John had were described by John with words that were part of Johnʼs vocabulary.  

Regarding the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ, His return to the earth on that occasion will occur while the forces of the king of the North, the king of the South, the kings of the East, and the king of the West will be fighting in the land of Israel during the Battle of Armageddon.  That topic is covered in Revelation 16:12–16.  Also, when the Lord will be returning to the earth on the occasion of the Second Advent, the Lord will be amongst clouds.  That topic is covered in Matthew 24:30; Matthew 26:64; Mark 13:26; Mark 14:62; and Luke 21:27.  On that occasion, the Mount of Olives will split in half such that one part moves north and the other part moves south, and people will flee eastward through the valley that will result from the splitting of the Mount of Olives.  Also on the occasion of the Second Advent, day will be darkened, and night will be illuminated.  The topic of the Lord Jesus Christʼs return is covered in Zechariah 14:1–7.  It is also covered in Revelation 19:11–21.  

The content of Revelation 17:4 references the group of evil powerful people referred to as Babylon.  That group is also referred to as the great harlot, Babylon the great, the mother of the harlots and of the abominations of the earth, the great city, and Babylon.  In that verse, the word woman is used, and that usage of the word woman refers to the phrase great harlot that is used in Revelation 17:1.  The content of Revelation 17:4 references the woman having purple and scarlet garments adorned with gold and precious stone and pearls and having a gold cup.  Coincidentally, members in the hierarchy of authority of the religious and political organization that is a church and a state, has a bank, and is headquartered at Vatican City in the area of the seven hills of Rome have purple garments, scarlet garments, and garments adorned with gold that are all reminiscent of the content of Revelation 17:4.  Also, that religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City has objects made of precious stone which are reminiscent of the content of Revelation 17:4.  In addition, that religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City has objects made of pearls which are reminiscent of the content of Revelation 17:4.  Furthermore, that religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City uses gold cups, and that usage of gold cups is reminiscent of the content of Revelation 17:4.  

As mentioned further above, the king of the West is also known as the Antichrist with a capital A.  Regarding the coincidence of the content of Revelation 17 and 18 covering the topic of the Antichrist defeating the group of evil powerful people referred to as Babylon and the content of Isaiah 45 and 47 referencing Cyrus defeating ancient Babylon, the Antichrist is an evil counterpart of Cyrus of Persia.  In that regard, the Antichrist is a fake Cyrus just as the Antichrist is a fake messiah—in other words, a fake savior.  

In addition to the parallel between Cyrus, who was a good guy, and the Antichrist, who is a bad guy who some people mistakenly believe is a good guy, there is another parallel between the content of Isaiah 45 and 47 and the content of Revelation 17 and 18.  In that regard, in the content of Isaiah 47:9, sorceries of ancient Babylon are referenced, and in the content of Revelation 18:23 is the Koine Greek noun φαρμακεία [pronounced far-mah-KAY-ah and transliterated as pharmakeia].  The Hebrew noun translated as “sorceries” in Isaiah 47:9 is כְּשָׁפַיִ [pronounced keh-shah-fah-YEE and can be transliterated as keshaphayi], which is an inflected form of the root word כֶּשֶׁף [pronounced KEH-shehf and can be transliterated as kesheph].  (Hebrew is written and read from right to left.)  The Hebrew noun kesheph has a similarity to the Koine Greek noun pharmakeia in that the usage of the Koine Greek noun pharmakeia can involve sorcery.  In that regard, the connotation of pharmakeia involves a substance or substances.  

The Koine Greek noun pharmakeia refers to the use or the administering of drugs and what people claim to be magical spells (“sorcery”).  The foregoing can be related to each other and can be all wrapped up together.  The Koine Greek noun pharmakeia is derived from the Koine Greek noun φαρμακεύς [pronounced fahr-mah-KYOOS and transliterated as pharmakeus].  The noun pharmakeus refers to a person who prepares things such as drugs, things such as poisons, and things such as potions that are claimed to involve magical spells.  Such a person can also be referred to as a druggist or a pharmacist.  The Koine Greek noun pharmakeus is derived from the Greek noun φάρμακον [pronounced FAHR-mah-kahn and transliterated as pharmakon].  The noun pharmakon refers to a drug such as a potion, including one that is claimed to be somehow associated with a magical spell.  The English word pharmacy is derived from the Greek word pharmakon.  

Regarding pharmakeia [far-mah-KAY-ah] used in reference to drugs, that usage of pharmakeia can refer to either the use of drugs or the administering of drugs.  In that regard, the use of mind-altering drugs can be similar to spell-casting.  Regarding pharmakeia and magical spells, pharmakeia can involve activities associated with idolatry.  Also, the use of mind-altering drugs could potentially make an unbeliever susceptible to demon possession, which is control of an unbeliever by one or more demons.  Demons are also known as fallen angels.  Fallen angels are con artists.  Like the human villains in Scooby-Doo cartoons, fallen angels pretend to be things other than what the fallen angels really are:  manipulative narcissists.  Ways in which fallen angels could be like human villains in Scooby-Doo cartoons include the fallen angels pretending to be ghosts, good spirits, gods, and extraterrestrial visitors other than what the fallen angels really are (including pretending to be ancient human astronauts or other human spacefarers).  Also, fallen angels pretend to be good angels, as per the content of 2 Corinthians 11:14–15.  In addition, fallen angels mix truth with lies, and they omit information.  Satan did that to Ishshah [ish-SHAW] (the name of Eve before Adam renamed her Eve) when in the Garden of Eden—whether the references to a serpent in Genesis 3 are metaphorical references to Satan appearing in a form other than that of a serpent or of something like a serpent or whether the references to a serpent in Genesis 3 are literal references to Satan appearing in the form of a serpent or of something like a serpent or whether the references to a serpent in Genesis 3 are literal references to Satan controlling a literal serpent—Satan tricked Ishshah.  

With regard to whether any given substance or concoction of substances can be categorized as pharmakeia [far-mah-KAY-ah], the connotation of that word involves things that are claimed to have beneficial effects when those things lack such claimed beneficial effects.  In addition, the connotation of pharmakeia can involve a substance or concoction of substances that is toxic.  The connotation of pharmakeia can even involve a level of toxicity that can be described as poisonous.  Regarding the matter of poisonousness, it is possible that pharmakeia can be used to refer to a substance or concoction of substances that is inadvertently poisonous or to a substance or concoction of substances that someone deliberately designs as a poison.  

In the New Testament, there is another Koine Greek noun that can be translated as “sorcery.”  That noun, which has a slightly different connotation than does the noun pharmakeia, is μαγεία [pronounced mah-GAY-ah and transliterated as mageia].  The noun mageia can be translated as “magic,” “magic art,” or “sorcery.”  The noun mageia is derived from the Koine Greek verb μαγεύω [pronounced mah-GYOO-oh and transliterated as mageuō].  The verb mageuō can be translated as “practice magical arts” or “use sorcery.”  The verb mageuō is derived from the Koine Greek noun μάγος [pronounced MAH-gahs and transliterated as magos].  The noun magos can be translated as “magus” [MAY-guhs], “magician,” or “sorcerer.”  The English noun magus is derived from the Latin noun magus [MAH-goos], which is a masculine noun.  A feminine form of the noun magus is maga [MAH-gah].  In that regard, the noun maga can be translated as “sorceress” or “witch.”  Also, the English adjectives magic and magical are translations of the Latin adjective magus.  A feminine form of the adjective magus is maga.  In that regard, the adjective magus is used to describe a masculine noun, and the adjective maga is used to describe a feminine noun.  For example, a Latin noun that can be translated as “wand” is the feminine noun virga [WEER-gah]; therefore, the feminine adjective maga is used to describe virga when translating the term magic wand.  In Latin, an adjective follows the noun that it modifies; therefore, the term magic wand can be translated into Latin as virga maga.  

The content of Revelation 18:3 indicates that the group of people known as Babylon will have had influence over merchants, and the content of Revelation 18:23 indicates that the group of people known as Babylon will have deceived people with pharmakeia.  The content of Revelation 17:3 and the content of Revelation 17:7 indicate that the Antichrist will have been associated with that group.  The reference in Revelation 17:3 involves the group of powerful people referred to as Babylon sitting on the Antichrist, who is referred to as the beast.  The reference in Revelation 17:7 involves the beast—in other words, the Antichrist—carrying the group of powerful people referred to as Babylon on the back of the beast.  That could possibly refer to the group of powerful people referred to as Babylon financially benefitting from a decision made by the Antichrist.  

Regarding Isaiah 45, Isaiah 46, and Isaiah 47, there are some more interesting coincidences involving those chapters and also Isaiah 48.  The 45th chapter of Isaiah is sandwiched between two chapters in which idols are referenced.  Likewise, the 47th chapter of Isaiah is sandwiched between two chapters in which idols are referenced.  In that regard, below is content related to Isaiah 48:1–5.  Idols are referenced in that content.  

Note:  Isaiah 48 starts with Isaiah quoting God the Father.  That quoting of God the Father began in Isaiah 45:18.  

Isaiah 48:1

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are named Israel and who have come forth from the waters of Judah, who swear / take an oath by the name of Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One and invoke / make mention of the 'Elohiym [el-oh-HEEM] / Godhead of Israel, not in truth nor in righteousness.

Note:  In this verse, the phrase have come forth from the waters of Judah metaphorically refers to people who are descended from Judah.  This verse indicates that Judahites were making promises in the name of God the Father and were mentioning God the Father but were doing so deceitfully and for selfish purposes.  

Isaiah 48:2

“Certainly, they have called themselves of the holy city and have leaned on the 'Elohiym/Godhead of Israel.  Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One of hosts / armies / tsaba' [tsah-VAH] / צָבָא is His name.

Note:  Judahites at the time that Isaiah wrote Isaiah 48 calling themselves of the holy city refers to those Judahites claiming that they are holy because they are associated with the holy city Jerusalem.  In that regard, at the time that Isaiah wrote Isaiah 48, Judahites claimed to be holy and acted as though they were depending on God the Father, when in reality, they were being superficial.  In that regard, while it might have superficially seemed that those Judahites were regularly obeying the Word of God, they actually were regularly disobeying the Word of God.  

Isaiah 48:3

“I have declared the former things long ago, and they have gone forth from My mouth, and I proclaim them.  Suddenly I have acted, and they come to pass.

Note:  The uses of a present tense in the phrases I proclaim them and they come to pass are references to what has occurred in the past.  Such uses of a present tense have a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, using a verb in a present tense to refer to the past can help a reader or hearer of the Word of God imagine past events as though the reader or hearer is watching those events as they occur.  

The word mouth in this verse is an anthropomorphism [an-thruh-puh-MOR-fiz-uhm].  An anthropomorphism is a usage of terminology involving a physical characteristic to describe a characteristic of the Trinity.  The anthropomorphism involving a mouth is a metaphor that calls attention to the sovereignty [supreme authority] of God the Father.  Also, the content of this verse calls attention to the omnipotence [all-powerfulness] of God the Father.  

Isaiah 48:4

“From My knowing that you are obstinate / harsh / churlish / cruel / stiff-necked / stubborn and that your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead is bronze/brass, 

Note:  In this verse, the phrases your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead is bronze/brass are metaphorical references to the Judahitesʼ rebelliousness towards God the Father.  

Isaiah 48:5

I declare to you long ago.  Before it takes place, I have proclaimed to you so that you do not say, ‘My idol has done them, and my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.’

Note:  The use of a present tense in the phrase I declare to you long ago is a reference to what has occurred in the past.  Such uses of a present tense have a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, using a verb in a present tense to refer to the past can help a reader or hearer of the Word of God imagine past events as though the reader or hearer is watching those events as they occur.  God the Father used prophecies to give the Judahites opportunities to recognize that the Judahites should depend on God the Father rather than depending on man-made objects.  

Content of Isaiah 48:14 references content of Isaiah 48:5.  Below is content related to Isaiah 48:14.  Also, Cyrus is referenced in the content of that verse.  

Isaiah 48:14

“Assemble, all of you, and hear, listen, and obey!  Who among them has declared these things?  Jehovah / Yahweh / I am I am / the existing One has loved him; he carries out His good pleasure on Babylon—and His arm on the Chaldeans.

Note:  In this verse, the pronouns him and he refer to the Persian king named Cyrus [SIGH-ruhs], who was previously mentioned in Isaiah 44 and Isaiah 45.  Persia was east of Babylon.  For geographical context, below is a link to a map.  While Persia is not labeled on that map, Persia was located in grid coordinates F2, F3, and F4, as well as further east than the area marked by those grid coordinates.  For reference, Babylon is on the edge of grid coordinates E3 and E4 on that map.

The content of Isaiah 45:1 reveals that Cyrus was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  In that regard, the content of Isaiah 45:1 refers to Cyrus with the phrase His anointed.  In that phrase, the pronoun His refers to God the Father.  In the Bible, the term anointed is only used to refer either to the Lord Jesus Christ or to believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Because Cyrus believed in the Lord as the Savior before the Lord was born as the Human the Lord Jesus Christ, Cyrus did not necessarily know what the Lordʼs name would be.  The same applies to any believer in the Lord as the Savior before the Lord was born.  In that regard, the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believed before the Lord Jesus Christʼs public ministry was revealed—by means of believing that God the Son would take the form of the One sinless Human Who would be judged for the sins of humanity, that the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believed after the Lord Jesus Christʼs public ministry was revealed and before the Lord Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity—by means of believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is that sinless Human Who would be judged for the sins of humanity, and that the means of receiving eternal life is—for those who believe after the Lord Jesus Christ was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity—by means of believing that Jesus Christ is that sinless Human Who was judged for the sins of humanity.  

The use of the perfect tense in the phrase has loved him is a reference to the future.  Such a use of the perfect tense has a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, why would verbs in the perfect tense be used to refer to what will happen in the future?  Doing so in reference to something being indicated can communicate that what will occur in the future is 100% certain to happen and that because it is 100% certain to happen, it is as though it has happened already.  

The use of a present tense in the phrase carries out in this verse is also a reference to what will occur in the future.  Such a use of a present tense has a rhetorical effect.  In that regard, using a verb in a present tense to refer to the future can help a reader or hearer of the Word of God imagine future events as though the reader or hearer is watching those events as they occur.  

Cyrus, while leading the the Persians and Medes [MEEDZ], defeated the Chaldeans [kal-DEE-uhnz].  The Chaldeans were the ruling class of Babylon.  As such, the term Chaldeans is used synonymously to refer to the people of the Babylonian Empire.  When Cyrus defeated the Chaldeans, Babylon was ruled by Belshazzar [BEL-shuh-zahr or bel-SHAZ-ahr or bel-SHAZ-uhr].  Belshazzar was a grandson of Nebuchadnezzar [neb-oo-kad-NEZ-ahr or neb-uh-kuhd-NEZ-uhr or neb-yuh-kuhd-NEZ-uhr] (also known in English as Nebuchadrezzar [neb-oo-kad-REZ-ahr or neb-uh-kuhd-REZ-uhr or neb-yuh-kuhd-REZ-uhr]).  Nebuchadnezzar was the ruler of Babylon during the time of Daniel.  Nebuchadnezzar eventually became a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Because Nebuchadnezzar believed in the Lord as the Savior before the Lord was born as the Human the Lord Jesus Christ, Nebuchadnezzar did not necessarily know what the Lordʼs name would be.  

Belshazzar was decadent.  In that regard, he was self-indulgent.  In his self-indulgence, he looked for happiness from entertainment.  When Cyrus and the forces that he led attacked Babylon, Belshazzar was entertaining himself by means of a large party.  During Belshazzarʼs party and before Cyrus and the forces that he led attacked, fingers of a hand miraculously appeared and wrote a message of judgment on a wall.  The topic of Belshazzarʼs party and the attack led by Cyrus is covered in Daniel 5.  The handwriting on the wall is mentioned in Daniel 5:5 and Daniel 5:24–28.  

In Isaiah 48:14, the pronoun them refers to the man-made objects referenced in verse 5.  In that regard, content in verse 14 calls attention to the uselessness of those man-made objects.  In contrast, verse 14 calls attention to the sovereignty [supreme authority] of God the Father, the omniscience [all-knowingness] of God the Father, and the omnipotence [all-powerfulness] of God the Father.  

In addition to the coincidences involving references to idols in Isaiah 44, Cyrus in Isaiah 45, idols in Isaiah 46, Cyrus in Isaiah 47, and idols in Isaiah 48, there are some other coincidences involving some of those chapters.  Regarding applying the mindset color code to those coincidences, a believer who becomes aware of one or more coincidences will be unable to be in Condition Red regarding the identities of people who are referenced in the Bible as being involved in the Tribulation.  While a believer will be unable to be in Condition Red regarding the identities of those people, a believer can be in Condition Orange regarding people who fit the pattern of people who are referenced in the Bible as being involved in the Tribulation.  Regarding the people who fit the pattern of people who are referenced in the Bible as being involved in the Tribulation, it is beneficent to pray to God the Father that the people who fit such a pattern hear or see the gospel—the good news that believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity is the means by which a person is able to have eternal life—and that God the Father has God the Holy Spirit make the gospel clear to those people.  

There are some coincidences involving events that occurred in April of 2024. One of those events was an earthquake that occurred in New Jersey on April 5th, the month and day of which can be written as 4/5.  The other event was a solar eclipse that occurred on April 8th, the month and day of which can be written as 4/8.  As of the date of the last editing of these notes, it is impossible for a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to know whether there is significance to the fact that an earthquake that occurred in New Jersey on April 5th, 2024, had a magnitude of 4.8 two days before the total solar eclipse of April 8th, 2024.  In that regard, while the date April 8th can be written as 4/8, it can also be written as 04/08. Furthermore, in some locations outside the United States, that date can be written with the day number before the month number.  In that regard, a believer needs to refrain from being in Condition Red with regard to the 4.8 magnitude of the earthquake and the occurrence of the solar eclipse on April 8th.  A believer can be in Condition Orange regarding that matter, of course.  

In determining whether to be in Condition Orange regarding the matter of the 4.8-magnitude earthquake on April 5th, 2024, and the occurrence of the total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, a believer contemplates the coincidence of those occurrences.  Regarding contemplating coincidences, there are some related to the Tribulation, which is the seven-year period that will begin with the Rapture.  The Rapture involves both deceased and living believers in the Lord Jesus Christ meeting the Lord in the clouds in the atmosphere of the earth, receiving glorified immortal resurrection bodies similar to the Lord Jesus Christʼs glorified resurrection body, and going to Heaven with those resurrection bodies.  

Regarding contemplating coincidences related to the Tribulation, it is worthwhile to keep in mind the Bible content that references the Tribulation-era king of the North, king of the South, kings of the East, king of the West, and a possible dictator of Palestine.  All of those rulers are evil.  In addition, the king of the West, who is also known as the Antichrist with a capital A, will seem to be a hero riding on a white horse, as per Revelation 6:2.  In contrast, the content of Revelation 19:11 references the Lord Jesus Christ on a white horse on the occasion of the Second Advent.  Regarding the content of Revelation 6:2, the ruler of the most powerful western nation during the Tribulation will be an evil man who seems to be a hero.  

The total solar eclipse of April 8th, 2024, involves the sun, which is a source of light, being obscured by the moon, which is something closer to the viewer but of lesser size and power than that which is obscured.  Also, an earthquake involves destruction.  In that regard, if there is significance to the coincidence of the occurrence of the 4.8-magnitude earthquake on April 5th, 2024, and the occurrence of the solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, then that coincidence has a negative connotation.  

Regarding coincidences, Muncie, Indiana, which is one of the locations where there was a total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, is a city that is known as Middletown.  Muncie, Indiana, is known as Middletown because in two studies of Muncie that were done in the 1920s and 1930s, the nickname Middletown was used so that people would not know that Muncie was the subject of the two studies.  People eventually figured out that the studies were about Muncie.  Muncie, Indiana, was the subject of the two studies because some people considered that city to be typical of small American cities.  If there is any significance involving the 4.8-magnitude earthquake on April 5th, 2024, and the occurrence of the solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, then it is possible that there could be significance to the fact that the obscuring of a source of light occurred at the location of a city that people consider to be a typical small American city and that has been referred to as Middletown.  

The epicenter of the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that occurred on April 5th, 2024, was located at Tewksbury, New Jersey.  That earthquake was originally referenced with Whitehouse Station in the name.  Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, is located in the vicinity of Tewksbury.  Below is a link related to that earthquake.

When the partial solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, was at maximum eclipse as seen from Palm Beach, Florida, a crescent-shaped portion of the sun was visible.  On that same day in the sky over Jerusalem, there was a crescent new moon, which is the first appearance of a sliver of the moon after what some people refer to as the astronomical new moon, the time when there is an absence of reflection of light from the moon.  In that regard, the beginning of a month in the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar was determined in relation to a crescent new moon.  

The name of the first month of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar is derived from the Hebrew noun אָבִיב [pronounced ah-VEEV and can be transliterated as 'abiyb and abib and aviv].  (Hebrew is written and read from right to left.)  The noun aviv refers to a status of barley crop in which the barley has yet to be completely ripe but has partially ripened.  When the first month of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar is referenced in the Old Testament, the noun aviv is preceded by a Hebrew noun that can be translated as “month”; that noun is חֹדֶשׁ [pronounced KHOH-desh and can be transliterated as chodesh].  Regarding the translation of the combination of chodesh and aviv into English, the name of that month is sometimes translated as “Abib” [ah-BEEB] and sometimes translated as “Aviv” [ah-VEEV].

If the people who have concluded that barley in Israel was in a status of aviv/abib on April 7th, 2024, are mistaken about the status of the barley, then the new year of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar could have started on March 11th, 2024.  Also, if the people who have concluded that barley in Israel was in a status of aviv/abib on April 7th, 2024, are correct about the status of the barley but are mistaken in thinking that the crescent new moon was not visible in Israel on April 8th, 2024, when it really was visible in Israel on that day, then the new year of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar would have started on April 8th, 2024.  The point of all of the aforementioned details regarding the determining of when the first day of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar occurs is that it might be impossible for a person who is located somewhere other than Israel to know with absolute certainty when the first day of the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar actually occurs.  In that regard, while it would certainly be interesting if the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar were to start on the day of or on the day after a total solar eclipse is visible somewhere in the world, it might be impossible for a person who is located somewhere other than Israel to know with absolute certainty whether the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar starts on the day of or on the day after a total solar eclipse is visible somewhere in the world.  While it might be impossible for a person who is located somewhere other than Israel to know with absolute certainty whether the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar starts on the day of or on the day after a total solar eclipse is visible somewhere in the world, the possibility is certainly something worthwhile about which to be alert.  

Regarding years, some people consider the time period of February 10th, 2024, through January 28th, 2025, to be the Year of the Dragon.  Absent from the Bible is any reference to a year being a Year of the Dragon.  In that regard, Satan uses deceptions regarding the significance of calendars.  Also, while absent from the Bible is any reference to a year being a Year of the Dragon, there are dragon references in the Bible, and all of those references have negative connotations.  In that regard, the content of Revelation 12 metaphorically refers to the devil as a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven diadems on the heads, and the content of Revelation 13:1–2 refers to the devil as the dragon.  Furthermore, the content of Revelation 13:1–2 references the man who is the king of the West as being associated with the dragon—in other words, associated with the devil.  Also, the content of Revelation 13:11 references the false prophet speaking as a dragon.  The king of the West is also known as the Antichrist with a capital A, the beast, and the first beast.  The false prophet is also known as the second beast.  Content related to the king of the West being referred to as the first beast is in Revelation 13:1–12.  The content of Revelation 13:11–18 references the false prophet.  Regarding the foregoing, it would be an interesting coincidence if the king of the West or the false prophet or both become empowered during the Year of the Dragon.  

Also, some people consider the time period of January 29th, 2025, through February 16th, 2026, to be the Year of the Snake.  In that regard, if the Rapture were to occur during 2025, then the Rapture year according to the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar would start during the Year of the Snake according to a calendar that is part of Satanʼs deceptions regarding calendars.  That would be an interesting coincidence because Satan is associated with a serpent—in other words, with a snake.  

In addition, some people consider the time period after the Year of the Snake to be the Year of the Horse.  In that regard, it would be an interesting string of coincidences if, in addition to the king of the West or the false prophet or both becoming empowered during the Year of the Dragon, and the Rapture year according to the Hebrew ecclesiastical calendar then starting during the Year of the Snake, the king of the West were then to seem to be a hero riding on a white horse during the Year of the Horse.  Regarding the king of the West seeming to be a hero riding on a white horse, that topic is covered in Revelation 6:2.  In contrast to the king of the West, the content of Revelation 19:11 references the Lord Jesus Christ on a white horse on the occasion of the Second Advent.  Unspecified in the Bible is whether the Lord will be riding a literal horse or a vehicle that from the perspective of the apostle John could be described as a horse, including a flying vehicle that might resemble a flying motorcycle.  In that regard, the visions that John had were described by John with words that were part of Johnʼs vocabulary.  Regarding the foregoing, the king of the West is a pseudo-savior—in other words, a false savior.  

In addition to the content of Revelation 13:1–2 referencing the Antichrist being associated with Satan the dragon, the content of Revelation 13:11 references the false prophet speaking as a dragon.  Regarding the false prophet, it is possible that he is a man whom some people consider to be a visionary—in other words, a man who some people think has great ideas about what can be done regarding the future of mankind.  The content of Revelation 13:13–15 indicates that the false prophet will perform signs, including causing fire to come down from heaven, and that the false prophet will give breath to an image of the king of the West.  Those activities of the false prophet might involve supernatural power similar to what some people refer to as magic, or those activities of the false prophet might involve some sort of technology.  In that regard, technology sometimes seems like magic to some people.  If the content of Revelation 13:13–15 refers to some sort of technology used by the false prophet, then some people might perceive the false prophet as being a visionary technologist.  

The content of Revelation 13:16–18 indicates that the false prophet who is referenced in Revelation 13:11–18 causes all types of people to be prohibited from buying or selling if they refrain from having on their right hand or their forehead a mark associated with the king of the West.  Coincidentally, the letter X can be used as a mark.  Regarding the letter X, the path of the total solar eclipse that occurred on April 8th, 2024, and the path of a total solar eclipse on August 21st, 2017, make an X shape on a map of the United States.  While the mark referenced in Revelation 13:16–18 is something other than the letter X, it is an interesting coincidence that the paths of those two solar eclipses make the shape of a letter than can be used as a mark.  

Absent from the Bible is anything indicating that the false prophet is the representative of a religious organization.  In that regard, rather than a member in the hierarchy of authority of the religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City being the false prophet, it is possible that the members of the hierarchy of authority of that religious and political organization are referenced by the references to the group of evil powerful people referred to as Babylon in Revelation 17 and Revelation 18.  That religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City has material wealth, and that material wealth could involve investments that are hidden from the public.  It is possible that such investments could involve influence over rulers and business people around the world.  

Regarding the possibility of the religious and political organization that is based in Vatican City being associated with the word Babylon, it is possible that that religious and political organization is similar to a religious and political organization in ancient Babylon.  Regarding the religious part of the organization that is based in Vatican City, that religious organization promotes the use of the term queen of heaven to refer to Mary, the mother of the humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, and there was worshiping of the queen of heaven in ancient Babylon.  Absent from the Bible is anything referring to Mary as the queen of heaven.  In that regard, an example of Israelites refraining from regularly obeying the Word of God involves Israelites who were judged for worshiping false gods, including the queen of heaven (also known as the queen of the heavens).  That topic is covered in Jeremiah 44.  Rather than expressing gratitude to God the Father, some Israelites expressed gratitude to the queen of heaven.  Those Israelites rejected God the Father and chose paganism instead.  In that regard, any Christian church involved in worshiping the queen of heaven either is involved in syncretism [SING-krih-tihz-uhm or SING-kruh-tihz-uhm], which is the mixing of false notions with principles of the Word of God, or is a pagan entity masquerading as Christianity.  In the Bible, all of the references to the queen of heaven involve a negative connotation.  In that regard, the phrase queen of the heavens is found in Jeremiah 7:18; Jeremiah 44:17; Jeremiah 44:18; Jeremiah 44:19; and Jeremiah 44:25.  

Regarding the matter of the queen of heaven, the idolization of Mary is similar to the idolization of the false goddess Ishtar [ISH-tahr] and the similar false goddesses.  For example, the Babylonians and Assyrians worshiped Ishtar.  This false goddess is similar to the Aphrodite [af-ruh-DIGH-tee] / Cytherea [sith-uh-REE-uh] worshiped by the Greeks and the Venus worshiped by the Romans.  A similar false goddess worshiped by the Phoenicians, Syrians, and Canaanites is named Astarte [uh-STAHR-tee].  That false goddess is also known by the names Ashtaroth [ASH-tah-rohth], Astaroth, Asharoth, Asherah, and Ashtoreth.  In some of the English translations of the Bible, the word Asherah is used to refer to an idol representing the false goddess named Ashtaroth, and the word Asherim is used to refer to multiple idols representing that false goddess.  Regarding the foregoing, there has been a common thread in false-goddess worship, and that thread has continued for thousands of years and in various cultures.  In that regard, the content of Ecclesiastes 1:9 indicates that there is nothing new under the sun.  That thread of false-goddess worship is one of many methods that Satan has used to deceive people throughout human history.  The organization that is based in Vatican City is involved in that thread of false-goddess worship, and that thread is connected to ancient Babylon.  In that regard, it is possible that the organization that is based in Vatican City is a modern-day version of Babylon.  

Content of Revelation 13:1 metaphorically references the Antichrist coming out of the sea, and the content of Revelation 19:20 references the Antichrist and the false prophet being thrown into the Lake of Fire.  It is possible that the sea that is metaphorically referenced in Revelation 13:1 refers to Gentile nations.  Regardless of whether the metaphor of the sea in Revelation 13:1 refers to Gentile nations, the content of that verse refers to the Antichrist coming out of the sea.  Regarding the Antichrist and the false prophet being thrown into the Lake of Fire, that will occur on the occasion of the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ.  At that time, no one else will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.  

Because the content of Revelation 13:1 refers to the Antichrist coming from the sea and the content of Revelation 19:20 refers to the Antichrist going to the Lake of Fire, those verses indicate that the Antichrist goes from sea to lake.  The English word sea can be translated into Spanish as “mar” [MAHR].  The English word to can be translated into Spanish as “a” [AH].  The English word lake can be translated into Spanish as “lago” [LAH-goh].  

Spanish is derived from Latin, which was the language of ancient Rome.  Regarding Rome, some people refer to the western nation ruled by the man who is the king of the West during the Tribulation—which is the most powerful western nation—as the Revived Roman Empire.  While absent from the Bible is anything specifically indicating that the most powerful western nation during the Tribulation will be known as the Revived Roman Empire, the content of Daniel 2 indicates that that western nation is related to ancient Rome.  In that regard, the word Rome can be used to refer to the city Rome, to the kingdom of which that city was the capital, to the republic of which that city was the capital, or to the empire of which that city was the capital.  The settlement that became the city Rome was founded in the 700s B.C.  Rome eventually became a kingdom.  That kingdom is known as the Roman Kingdom.  Then Rome became a republic.  That republic is known as the Roman Republic.  After that, Rome became an empire.  That empire is known as the Roman Empire.  When the First Advent occurred, the Roman Empire existed.  Regarding the content of Daniel 2, the Roman Empire is referenced by means of a reference to iron, and the most powerful western nation during the Tribulation is referenced by means of a reference to clay and iron.  

The historical path of America could potentially be similar to the path of ancient Rome.  The United States was born from the American colonies.  Those colonies were under the sovereignty of the king of the United Kingdom.  Therefore, the American colonies were part of a kingdom, and then those American colonies became American states that are part of a republic.  If the American republic were to be replaced by an American empire, then America would have a historical path similar to the path of ancient Rome.  In that regard, America could potentially be referred to as the Revived Roman Empire.  

Not only is the republican form of government of the United States reminiscent of the Roman Republic, but also there is Roman-related symbology in the capital of the United States.  In that regard, the fasces symbol, which involves a bundle of rods, is used in decorations in Washington, D.C.  The fasces symbol also had been on dimes until a torch was used on dimes instead.  Also, Roman architecture has had an influence on the architectural style of government buildings in the United States.  

On March 21st, 2019, during statements by the Secretary of State of the United States and by the Prime Minister of Israel, the Prime Minister of Israel said, “the new Rome the United States.”  Regarding America being referred to as the new Rome by the Prime Minister of Israel, the content of Daniel 9:26 indicates that the king of the West is associated with Rome, and the content of Daniel 9:27 indicates that the king of the West will initially be pro-Israel.  In that regard, he will be a deal-maker who will be involved in a huge deal with Israel.  In the middle of the Tribulation, the king of the West will nullify that deal and then mistreat the people of Israel.  In that regard, the king of the West is a capricious man who will switch from being pro-Israel to anti-Israel.  The king of the Westʼs capriciousness involves his megalomania.  As a megalomaniac, the king of the West will have people use an object for the purpose of giving glory to the king of the West during the Tribulation.  That object is called the abomination of desolation.  The abomination of desolation will be set up in the temple in Israel during the Tribulation.  

The abomination of desolation involves people worshiping the king of the West.  Coincidentally, ancient Roman emperors were worshiped as gods.  The worshiping of those Roman emperors is known as the Roman imperial cult.  The abomination of desolation is referenced in Daniel 9:27 and Matthew 24:15–16.  Below is content related to Daniel 9:26–27.  

Daniel 9:26

“Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.  The end is with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

Note:  The word flood in this verse is used metaphorically to refer to warfare and the destruction that will result from the warfare.  Also, the Messiah being cut off and having nothing refers to the Lord Jesus Christ being judged on the cross for the sins of humanity.  The prince who is to come is the Antichrist with a capital A.  The Antichrist will be the ruler of the most powerful western nation during the Tribulation.  The Antichrist is also known as the king of the West, the beast, and the first beast.  The false prophet is also known as the second beast.  The false prophet will be supporting the Antichrist.  Content related to the king of the West being referred to as the first beast is in Revelation 13:1–12.  The content of Revelation 13:11–18 references the false prophet.  

The city referenced in Daniel 9:26 is Jerusalem.  The sanctuary referenced in Daniel 9:26 is the Temple in Jerusalem in A.D. 70.  The people referenced by the phrase the people of the prince who is to come are the Romans who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in A.D. 70.  In that regard, the Antichrist is somehow associated with the Romans of the Roman Empire that existed in A.D. 70.  Regarding that association, the Antichristʼs rulership involves a revived version of the Roman Empire.  In that regard, the Antichristʼs rulership can be referred to as the Revived Roman Empire.  That association with the Roman Empire that existed in A.D. 70 could involve the Revived Roman Empire having characteristics that are similar to those of that Roman Empire.  Also, the establishing of the Revived Roman Empire might follow the pattern of the establishing of that Roman Empire.  In that regard, that Roman Empire replaced the Roman Republic; therefore, it is possible that the Revived Roman Empire involves an empire replacing a republic.  

The word Rome can be used to refer to the city Rome, to the kingdom of which that city was the capital, to the republic of which that city was the capital, or to the empire of which that city was the capital.  The settlement that became the city Rome was founded in the 700s B.C.  Rome eventually became a kingdom.  That kingdom is known as the Roman Kingdom.  Then Rome became a republic.  That republic is known as the Roman Republic.  After that, Rome became an empire.  That empire is known as the Roman Empire.  The Lord Jesus Christ was born during the time of the Roman Empire.  

Regarding the Roman Empire, the content of Daniel 2 references the Roman Empire by means of the iron legs of a statue.  In that regard, there have been times in history when there have been two Roman Empires at the same time.  In A.D. 395, the Roman Empire was divided into the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire.  The city Rome was the capital of the Western Roman Empire.  Where the continent of Europe meets Asia Minor, the city Constantinople, which was originally called Byzantium, became the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire.  The Western Roman Empire lasted until A.D. 476.  The Eastern Roman Empire lasted until A.D. 1453.  Some people refer to the Eastern Roman Empire as the Byzantine Empire, but when the Eastern Roman Empire existed, people referred to it as the Roman Empire.  

While the Roman Empire with the capital of Constantinople was the only Roman Empire for many years, another Roman Empire was eventually established.  The establishment of that Roman Empire occurred in A.D. 800.  That empire was a Germanic Roman Empire.  The religious and political organization that is now based in Vatican City was involved in the establishment of that Germanic Roman Empire.  The Germanic Roman Empire was created when the king of the Franks, a Germanic people, was crowned Emperor of the Romans.  The coronation ceremony occurred in the city Rome.  The name of that Frankish king is Charlemagne [SHAHR-luh-mayn].  Charlemagne is also known as Charles I and Charles the Great.  Charlemagne was crowned by the man who at that time was the leader of the religious and political organization that is now based in Vatican City.  That man had a regnal name, which is a name used by a ruler while that ruler is ruling and after that ruler has ruled.  The regnal name of that man is Leo.  In that regard, a new Roman Empire was established while a man with the regnal name Leo was the leader of the religious and political organization that is now based in Vatican City.  

Regarding the content of Daniel 2, that content involves a dream interpreted by Daniel.  That dream involves a statue, the parts of which represent different powerful nations.  The gold part of the statue represents the Babylonian Empire, the silver part represents the Medo-Persian Empire, the bronze part represents the Graeco-Macedonian Empire, the iron part represents the Roman Empire, and it is possible that the part involving a mixture of clay and iron represents the instance of the Roman Empire that can be referred to as the Germanic Roman Empire.  In that regard, non-circle-shaped administrative units known as imperial circles were eventually formed in the Germanic Roman Empire.  Ultimately, there were ten such circles.  There were also some unencircled imperial territories.  There were three such unencircled imperial territories.  There were also territories that had imperial immediacy, which means that they were under the direct authority of the emperor without any intermediate authority in between.  The administrative structure involving some territories under the direct authority of the emperor and some territories under intermediate authorities is reflective of the iron and clay referenced in the description of the feet of the statue in Daniel 2.  

Charlemagneʼs capital was in Aachen [AH-khuhn], a city which is located in what is now modern-day Germany.  After the time of Charlemagne, the location of the seat of power of the Germanic Roman Empire varied with the traveling of each emperor.  A seat of power that is moved with the traveling of a ruler can be referred to by means of various terms, such as itinerant court, itinerant emperorship [in reference to an emperor], itinerant kingship [in reference to a king], itinerant rule, and itinerant rulership.  Some of the cities which were the preferred locations of the seats of power of emperors of the Germanic Roman Empire include Palermo [which is located in what is now modern-day Italy], Vienna [which is located in what is now modern-day Austria], and Prague [which is located in what is now the modern-day Czech Republic].  Because all of the seats of power of all instances of Roman Empires have been located west of Israel, the Antichrist is associated with a direction that is west of Israel.  In that regard, the Antichrist can be referred to as the king of the West.  

Some people refer to the Germanic Roman Empire as the Holy Roman Empire even though there is nothing in the Word of God indicating that that Roman Empire is holy.  Also, the referring to that Germanic Roman Empire as holy came into usage in the A.D. 1100s.  Before that, the empire was referred to as being Roman without any reference to the empire being holy.  The Germanic Roman Empire lasted until A.D. 1806.  

Regarding the foregoing, the concept of translatio imperii [trahns-LAH-tee-oh eem-PEH-ree-ee] involves the transfer of imperial power to a different geographic region.  In that regard, the location of what people referred to as the Roman Empire was transferred from one region to another.  That is what occurred with the establishment of the Germanic Roman Empire.  

Regarding there having been various locations of the seats of power of nations known as the Roman Empire, it is possible that the location of the Revived Roman Empire could be somewhere other than the city Rome.  In that regard, in addition to the city Rome having been the capital of a nation known as the Roman Empire, the city Constantinople has been the capital of a nation known as the Roman Empire, and the city Aachen has been the capital of a nation known as the Roman Empire.  Also, regarding the nation known as the Roman Empire and of which Aachen has been the capital, the location of the seat of power of that nation later varied with the traveling of each emperor.  

Daniel 9:27

“Then he has made a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he puts a stop to sacrifice and grain offering, and on the wing of abominations he is making desolate, even until a complete destruction.  What is decreed is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”

Note:  In Daniel 9:27, the king of the West is the person referenced.  The week mentioned in Daniel 9:27 is Danielʼs seventieth week.  Adding the seven years of that week to the 483 years referenced in Daniel 9:25 equals 490 years.  Between the 483 years referenced in Daniel 9:25 and the seven years mentioned in Daniel 9:27 is the time of the Church Age.  The Church Age was a mystery for believers before the Church Age.  

In the context of this verse and the verses that precede it, the phrase the many could refer to the people of Israel or to Israel and other nations.  Also, some synonyms for the word covenant include agreement and deal.  Regarding that, the king of the West will initially be very friendly towards Israel.  Also, making a covenant with Israel is a big deal.  In that regard, it is possible that people will perceive the king of the West as being a huge deal-maker.  

After three and a half years, the king of the West will break his promise, thereby violating the agreement.  In other words, he will nullify the deal.  In addition, he will cause desolation.  In that regard, unspecified in this verse and the surrounding verses is to what the phrase the wing of abominations refers.  Regardless of to what that phrase refers, the king of the West will be causing destruction.  Also, he himself will experience destruction.  That destruction will occur when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth on the occasion of the Second Advent.  

Below is content related to Matthew 24:15–16.  The words of the Lord Jesus Christ are in red.  

Matthew 24:15

“Therefore, when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

Note:  This verse references Daniel 9:27.  The abomination of desolation occurs during the Tribulation.  In that regard, the context of the verses around Matthew 24:15 involve the time period of the Tribulation rather than the time period when the Greek ruler Antiochus [an-TIGH-uk-kuhs] Epiphanes [ih-PIHF-uh-neez] was reigning over the Middle Eastern empire known as the Seleucid [sih-LOO-sihd] Empire.  Antiochus Epiphanes (also known as Antiochus IV) reigned over the Seleucid Empire from 175–163 B.C.; therefore, his reign occurred before the Lord Jesus Christ spoke what is in the content of Matthew 24.  

Antiochus Epiphanes was a foreshadowing of the man who is the king of the West during the Tribulation.  The king of the West is also known as the Antichrist with a capital A, the beast, and the first beast.  The false prophet is also known as the second beast.  The false prophet will be supporting the Antichrist.  Content related to the king of the West being referred to as the first beast is in Revelation 13:1–12.  The content of Revelation 13:11–18 references the false prophet.  

Regarding the term abomination of desolation, it is important to remember that rather than that term referring to the king of the West himself, that term refers to something that the king of the West causes to be located in the Temple in Jerusalem.  At the time of the sending of this message on September 10th, 2026, there is an absence of a Temple in Jerusalem.  In that regard, the Temple, which would be the Third Temple, could be built in Jerusalem before the middle of the Tribulation.  

Matthew 24:16

then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

Note:  It is possible that on the occasion of the Second Advent, the land that was known as Judea during the First Advent might have a different name.  For example, at the time of the writing of this note, that land is known as Israel.  By referring to the land as Judea, the people to whom the Lord was speaking would understand what location the Lord was referencing.  

Unspecified is the location of the mountains referenced in this verse.  In that regard, it is possible that those mountains are outside the land of Israel.  Whether those mountains are inside or outside the land of Israel, those mountains will be a safer place or safer places than non-mountainous areas in Israel.  

If there is significance to the 4.8 figure involving the earthquake at the epicenter of which was near Whitehouse Station and the representation of the date of the total solar eclipse written as 4/8 being a significant coincidence, then there might be significance to the number 48.  Also, there might then be significance to the date of the earthquake the epicenter of which was located near White Station being a date that can be written as 4/5, and there could therefore be significance to the number 45.  

As mentioned further above, an earthquake involves destruction.  In that regard, there is a Koine Greek noun that can be translated as "destruction.”  That Koine Greek noun is derived from the a Hebrew noun that can also be translated as "destruction.”  That Hebrew noun is כֶּשֶׁף [pronounced a-vad-DOHN and can be transliterated as 'abaddown].  (Hebrew is written and read from right to left.)   The Koine Greek noun that is derived from 'abaddown is Ἀβαδδών [pronounced ah-bahd-DOHN and can be transliterated as Abaddon].  The syllabification of Abaddon is A-bad-don.  Regarding the foregoing, the noun syllabified as A-bad-don is associated with destruction.  In that regard, the content of Daniel 9:27 references the Antichrist engaging in destruction after violating the covenant that he will have made with Israel.  

As mentioned further above, the content of Revelation 19:20 indicates that the king of the West and the false prophet will be cast into the Lake of Fire.  In that verse, the king of the West is referred to as the beast.  The content of that verse also indicates that the false prophet who will be working for the king of the West will also be cast into the Lake of Fire on the occasion of the Second Advent.  In that regard, it is beneficent to pray to God the Father that any man who fits any of the patterns of the king of the West hears or sees the gospel—the good news that believing that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior Who was judged on the cross for the sins of humanity is the means by which a person is able to have eternal life—and that God the Holy Spirit make the gospel clear to that man.  Also, it is beneficent to pray to God the Father that any man who could fit the pattern of the false prophet will also hear the gospel and that God the Holy Spirit will make the gospel clear to that man.  If a man who could fit the pattern of the king of the West believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior, then that man will avoid being the king of the West.  Likewise, if a man who could fit the pattern of the false prophet believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior, then that man will avoid being the false prophet.
